What are YOU afraid of?

July 25, 2018

If you haven't heard the news by now, NIP  just launched a brand new campaign! The Face Your Fears Challenge has been off and running  since July 9th.

13 brave souls (so far) have joined the Challenge and are fundraising for inclusion. And we can't wait to see them reach their goals and face their fears, which run the gamut from playing piano in public and touching a snake  to tackling a zipline and sleeping in a haunted house. Our Challengers are sure going to make some amazing (and amazingly scary!) memories. You can follow their progress on social media using #FaceYourFear4Inclusion.

Speaking of fears, it's worth mentioning the "why" behind the Face Your Fears Challenge. The campaign grew from the knowledge that many children with disabilities share the same fear: the fear they will never make a friend.

No child deserves to feel this way.

But through the power of inclusion, no child has to. By taking the challenge and supporting us in our mission, our Challengers and the people and community behind them are helping make this a reality for even more children with disabilities.

I want to help, but...

Want to help but not sure you're up to for a solo scarefest? Never fear (see what we did there?)! You've heard the old saying there is safety in numbers. So take the challenge with a friend! Having a hand to hold and a neck to hug can make even the most impossible of feats possible. And if nothing else, you can make them go first ;p

Alternatively, you can also challenge a friend. Just call them out on social media using #FaceYourFear4Inclusion, and pester them in person as required ;).

If you are one of the those lucky fearless few who lives for an adrenaline high (or if you just don't know/have a fear to face) you can still join the Challenge, too! Pick something you've always wanted to do, join the Challenge, and go do it. What better excuse for an adventure than to raise money for a good cause?

Last but not least, you can always show your support by donating to one of the existing Challengers. We all win when a Challenger meets their fundraising goal and faces their fear. And there's certainly no harm in living vicariously.

The Challenge runs until August 31st so there is still plenty of time to show your support in whatever way works for you.
